Suggested fabric

Cotton/spandex Lycra · Polyester/spandex performance knit · Power mesh panels

200–300 gsm (5.9–8.8 oz/yd²) · stretch needed

stable four-way-stretch knit

Cycling breeches must be cut from four-way-stretch athletic knit so they move with you and stay put in the saddle; use a wicking poly/spandex for real rides.

Avoid: wovens, low-recovery knits

③ Place a motif

Preview where a chest print, pocket or embroidery will sit before you cut — then print it as a placement guide.

Atelier notes

  • 01Pick your size; the block already includes wearing ease.
  • 02Sew a quick calico toile first to check the fit before cutting your fabric.
  • 03Press each seam as you go for a crisp, professional finish.
