Suggested fabric
Tencel/lyocell twill · Rayon/viscose twill · Soft linen-blend · Lightweight stretch cotton sateen
180–260 gsm (5.3–7.7 oz/yd²) · some stretch ok
soft with controlled drape
Pick a fabric with body but a little give so the fitted bodice stays comfortable while the full-length legs hang cleanly without bagging at the knee.
Avoid: stiff bottomweight canvas, heavy denim, rigid quilting cotton
③ Place a motif
Preview where a chest print, pocket or embroidery will sit before you cut — then print it as a placement guide.

Atelier notes
- 01Pick your size; the draft already includes wearing ease.
- 02Sew a quick calico toile first — these are statement shapes, so check the fit and drape before cutting your fabric.
- 03Watch the grainline and stay-stitch any deep curves before they stretch.
